Engagement at Scarborough Bluffs

After a several full days of rain, Simon and Tilly were considering cancelling their engagement shoot. However, I’ve learned over the years that you never really know what the weather will do.

And shocker, the moment they stepped out of their car, the rain began.

They brought several umbrellas, and I always have about eight in my car (you have to be prepared for anything, in this business!), and off we went. And then the rain stopped after 5 minutes! Like I said, you never know what they weather will do. We then spent the next two hours wandering around Bluffer’s Park, until we came upon the beach. I’ve only ever been here once before for an engagement shoot, and let me tell you… the lighting is absolutely stunning. As the sun set, I managed to capture it streaming through their hair, lighting them up in a truly ethereal way.

Then we founds ourselves a field, where Tilly’s sister Darcy happily threw leaves at the couple… honestly, I’m pretty happy with the results! Thanks Darcy.

Overall, it turned out to be a wonderful day! Tilly and Simon were the sweetest couple to work with. They told me right away that they didn’t think they were all that photogenic, and I don’t know if I’ve ever disagreed with a person more! I barely had to tell any bad jokes, because they were always laughing with each other.

Come back in June to see the photos from their wedding in Muskoka!

Bonus: I also took a few film photos of them during our shoot. Enjoy!
