October Wedding at Alderlea

It’s no secret that fall weddings are my favourite.

Personally, I got married the first weekend of September, and even that was not fall enough for me (it was 30+ degrees).

But this wedding? In October? It was so lovely. The rain fell in intervals throughout the day, but never bothered us. It was the perfect kind of day - not too hot, not too cold.

I arrived to Alderlea early to do some scouting, not expecting anyone to be there. But Emma and her bridesmaids had arrived early (something I don’t think I’ve ever seen happen on a wedding day). Despite not originally planning on not taking any getting ready photos, I couldn’t help but take a few of the women as they prepared.

Emma and Chris have been together for a few years, and even have two ADORABLE children. I honestly think I took the most photos of their kids. Sorry! I couldn’t help it! They were too cute.

The day began with a ceremony at St. Mary’s Church, and then everyone travelled the very short distance to Alderlea, a beautiful old home and event space.

The evening was filled with good food, dancing, and an incredible video Emma’s sister created in tribute to her.

It was a wonderful day, surrounded by even better company!
